AdBlue – Chester-le-Street

AdBlue is a diesel exhaust fluid used in vehicles fitted with Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems. It works by breaking down harmful nitrogen oxide emissions into nitrogen and water before they leave the exhaust.

Most modern diesel cars, vans, and trucks use it, and running low, or running out entirely, can cause your vehicle to go into a reduced performance mode or refuse to start altogether.

At A Hedley Motor Engineers we can carry out an AdBlue refill if your warning light has come on. If your vehicle is showing AdBlue-related fault codes or the SCR system isn’t functioning correctly, our diagnostic equipment can identify the issue accurately before any work is carried out.

• Reduced engine performance or limp mode
• Increased exhaust smoke
• Fault codes related to the SCR or NOx system

Don’t Ignore the Warning Light

Some drivers assume an AdBlue warning is low priority. It isn’t. Depending on the vehicle, ignoring it long enough can result in the engine refusing to restart once switched off, so if your warning light is on, get it seen to promptly.
